- 1986-1987 Polymer Products
Department -- E. I. Du Pont, Wilmington, DE
Designed and programmed applications for design of coaxial cables of Teflon*
plus an Extrusion Consultant software package in BASIC and assembler,
both running on the IBM PC. Scouted new computing technology for Wire
and Cable Business Group of the Specialty Polymers Division. Initiated
and managed development of a prototype system for business planning and
project management using Sun and Apollo workstations. Involvement in all
phases of the project including site-to-site internetworking with T-1
bridging, client-server connectivity via TCP/IP internetworking using
Fiber Optic cabling, installing tape backup and Uninterruptible Power
Supply systems.
- Jan 1990 - June 1990 Textile
Fibers Department UNIX pilot -- E. I. DuPont

Pont Polymers Information Systems
Member of Production Planning and Sceduling team which designed and implemented
produc- tion planning and scheduling models for businesses in Du Pont
Polymers using MIMI* (Manager for Interactive Modeling Interfaces). Assisted
in the migration of this software from an MVS to an AIX platform running
on the IBM RS/6000 PowerStation. This required file transfer and remote
job execution between the two IBM Operating Systems over a DECNet backbone.
- November 1991 - August 1992 Du
Pont Polymers Information Systems
Worked as a Networking Specialist and member of the Data Management Team.
Developed application software running under OS/2 for doing LU6.2 APPC
"real-time" data transfer between an IBM CICS host and an OS/2 workstation.
This application was written in C and interfaced between a Novell Network
FoxPro* database and a relational DB2 database on the IBM mainframe utilizing
a wide-area network of bridged Ethernet and Token Ring segments. Testing
of the application involved in-depth analysis of SNA/VTAM and LU6.2 protocols.
Also was a member of a Workstation Design Team using Smalltalk for development
of a Customer Service Workstation prototype application.
